Because of the ongoing pandemic, a lot has happened and a lot has changed over the past few months. We have to keep in the mind the situation at hand but just because there is a situation doesn’t mean that we have to stop being patriotic! Because of technology and advancements in the world, we’re still able to celebrate being American!
Any celebration that is ongoing, advises you to proceed and celebrate with caution. Many firework demonstrations will include a live broadcast over the radio where you can safely practice a ‘drive-in’ version of watching fireworks to minimize the gathering of large crowds.
If there are no drive-in options, please make sure you exercise social distancing, healthy travel practices and take all precautions necessary.
Here is where you’ll be able to watch some firework displays in person, if anything changes this link will help you stay up to date.
Watch virtual fireworks from the comfort of your own home. Check out the Macy’s Fourth of July fireworks from the comfort of your home. Check out Town and Country magazine as they have rounded up some of the best virtual online fireworks. Check out this link for the major city you’d like to watch fireworks from, like New York City, Nashville, TN and Boston, MA.
If fireworks are not an option this Fourth of July, sparklers are a great alternative and can be fun for the kids and adults. Sparklers are fun on their own but why not make the moment last by taking pictures. A fun trick is to write loved ones names or kind words by waving the sparkler and have someone take long exposure pictures. Not only is this a fun activity, but it makes for great pictures for memories or home decor.
Rent a dumpster and clean out the family home. Use this day to go down memory lane with the family and laugh about old traditions. Even cleaning out the yard or garage you’ll be sure to find unique memorabilia that will bring you right back to a couple years ago. Doing this cleanout with the family might even start out a new tradition, share the roll off dumpster rental with the neighbors and celebrate with a restriction permitting barbecue.
Everyone loves movie night so why not create your own movie theater right in the backyard. Get a projector and white screen, comfy cushions and fuzzy blankets and there you have your very own movie theater. You can even create your own concession stand, including popcorn of course and everyone’s favorite chocolate. After the movie, why not set up one of the virtual fireworks displays! If there are friends or family members that are unable to attend they don’t have to miss out, use Netflix Party or Scener to get everyone included virtually. This will be one Fourth of July to remember!
